Over the the next year or so, The Bell will undergo significant redevelopment to enhance the existing facilities.

Phase 1 - the enlargement of the Stable and redecoration of the Big Room - is under way. The decor will remain uniquely quirky and includes bespoke wallpaper, created by talented local designer, Melissa White.

We hope you like the CGI visuals of this first phase as much as we do!

The Stable

Proudly declaring ‘I will always love you my friend’, our renowned display will still hold pride of place. The bell, cast in the Whitechapel Foundry in 1719, just cries out to be rung.

The Bar

A new, fully-stocked, permanent bar will be installed, serving local draught ales and lagers, along with a variety of spirits and wines to guests using The Big Room and Stable.

Seating Area

There will be a cosy seating area adjacent to The Stable and new bar, whilst Billy the Buffalo will be there, as always, watching the world go by.

The Staircase

Built around a silver birch growing from through the floor, there will be a fabulous new staircase from which to make a grand entrance.

Decorated with photos, the birch adds your own personal touch to a wedding or event.

Sneaky Peak

Local designer Melissa White is creating bespoke wallpaper that will tell The Bell’s story. Using historic earthy tones and illustrations from around the village, such as the Church, there will be other uniquely quirky twists to discover yourself.

The Big Room

Most of the original features will be staying in place, such as the mismatched chandeliers and mirrors, along with the mantlepieces and ancient hearths - enhanced by that one of a kind wallpaper and chairs!
