Explore techniques used by the Old Masters to bring layers of colour and texture to still life painting. Working with local artist Dani Humberstone, explore colour theory, learning how to create light and shade, how to blend and paint to give your subject a more natural appearance.
Over two blissful days at The Bell explore the art of lino and mono printing, layering with collage. Inspired by Matisse and Picasso, focussing on simple designs, learn how to cut a lino plate. Experiment with Chine-colle, printing onto vintage maps, tissue and textured papers. Day two will be experimenting with collage, incorporating your new found skills.

Working with two objects to paint, learn how to ‘pull’ your subject out of the canvas, to give the impression of three dimensions and achieve the illusion of reality.
Learn this traditional craft, giving new life to pre-loved and found fabrics. Spend two days fully immersed in making a homely mat or slip cushion and begin your passion for rag rug making. Working with simple hand tools you will learn how to create a looped and clip surface working onto hessian. A great up-cycling project to use treasured outgrown garments to tell your own story.
Join us in our gorgeous garden and learn from master willow weaver, Dominic Parrette, how to sculpt willow to create a beautiful hare. A wonderful hand made addition to any home or garden, satisfaction guaranteed and delight to master this ancient art.
